$500,000 SETTLEMENT FOR FAILURE TO DIAGNOSE SEPSIS

After our client underwent surgery, her doctors failed to notice the internal surgical incisions had not been closed properly. The failure to notice the leaking incision caused a life threatening infection.  The infection progressed to sepsis and resulted in serious injuries our client that permanently altered her ability to eat and exercise.  The medical malpractice case proceeded all the way through trial where a jury found there had been malpractice. After the trial, while waiting for post-trial motions, the health care provider's insurance company settled the case for $500,000.
